Eventide by artist Linda Felcey.
Linda studied fine art at Grimsby School of Art and Kingston University. Her studio sits at the base of Mount Caburn in East Sussex, where the Downs meet the Weald.
In Linda's words her work is "about taking notice, striving to depict the unique and transient qualities of a particular object, place and moment".
From connection and observation Linda's works evoke atmosphere and sensations drawn from what is around her.
Pieces unfold and emerge through drawing, painting and printmaking.
Oil on Linen
Size - 110 x 100cm
One of a pair along with - Evening Song (See separate listing)
Written on the back of the painting are some words taken from the poet Edward Thomas. Interpreted and reconfigured by Linda whilst working on this piece -
colours of thunder clouds
fiercely a breath of which seemed
melting - muttering
as vast as heaven
rain comes softly
alike foam on waves
melting into it
listening
suddenly blurs
Linda says - "I noted the words down over a period of time and played with their relationship. They spoke to me in their new configuration and inspired the ideas in the painting"
