Soap dish

£34.00

A sleek and versatile soap dish left unglazed for a beautiful, grainy finish. Made up of a separate plate and bowl, this soap dish has three possible configurations. Available in stoneware or bone china.

This has been a long time in the designing and the making as we wanted a dish that could be adapted for any sink or drainer.

Iteration 1: You can use the flat, perforated plate on its own on a wet, drainer-style surface with a choice of two sides. One side has a rim to catch the soap if it were on a slant. The other side is flat and can be used to create a raised platform which allows water to drain from beneath.

Iteration 2: If you need a dish to catch the drips you can use the perfectly fitting bowl and plate together.

Iteration 3: If you have a narrow sink area you can use the bowl on its own. The bowl has been created so that the soap sits proud of any excess water that gathers in the base of it.

Both the dish and bowl are unglazed so that the slightly rough texture creates some friction to prevent the soap from sliding around.

A soap dish may seem like a simple artefact to make but when you get down to the nitty gritty of design you would be surprised how long it takes and the level of detail involved.
