Italian Panpepato by Marabissi

Panpepato is a classic Italian dessert especially popular at Christmas. This sweet treat is made with densely packed whole almonds, candied fruits, honey, and spices. A truly festive treat!

Panpepato literally translates as "peppered bread" and is similar to the more well known panforte but with those extra warming spices that make it ideal for this time of year.

A little slice goes a long way. Try alongside a hot cup of tea or something a little stronger. Delicious with a glass of dessert wine after dinner.
