Jeans by Dawson Denim - SLIM Fit

Made in Japan and hand-finished in Brighton, the Dawson Slim Fit jeans are made in an organic selvedge denim — a faithful recreation of a 1940s fabric, woven in Okayama, Japan on vintage Toyoda looms and plant-dyed with rich indigo.

A sturdy three button fly means these jeans tend to fit as a low-rise on men, and a mid-rise on women. With a tapered, modern leg for a cleaner profile, they balance heritage craftsmanship with contemporary style. These hardwearing jeans are made to last a lifetime. 

These jeans are available in a Raw Denim, as well as in two wash finishes; Rinse and 3-Year, both PH-neutral low-impact finishes produced under Japan's strict water regulations.

RAW DENIM

Selvedge denim straight from the roll, Dawson Denim LOT 41 is Sanforized selvedge which means the fabric has minimal shrinkage (around 2cms on the length). This quality is plant dyed and made with organic cotton. The handle will feel stiff but soften over the first few washes.

RINSE FINISH

Raw denim that has been lightly rinsed in water to soften and remove the starch and remove any excess indigo dye. Dawson Denim's low-impact, Ph-neutral wash process uses no chemicals and adheres to Japan’s strict water regulations.

3-YEAR WASH FINISH

Inspired by a naturally faded pair of Dawson Denim jeans worn for three years, this edition has been meticulously aged by a specialist laundry in Japan, capturing every nuance of authentic wear. From the soft whiskering and high-contrast fades to the subtle roping along the hems, this denim tells a story from the moment you put it on.

SIZING

Each pair comes in a generous 34" leg as standard and can be custom hemmed to your required length on Dawson Denim's 1957 Union Special chainstitch machine in Brighton. This is a complimentary, one-off service upon purchase.

We always recommend trying your jeans on first to make sure the waist size is right. The fit should be snug (not tight) as the waistband will give a little after the first couple of wears. The total length of the waistband (the circumference) will give by about an inch. 

When you try on your jeans in store we will mark your preferred length ready for Dawson Denim to hem for a perfect finish. Your jeans will be ready to collect in store a few days later, or we can post your jeans out to you. We can also do the same process by post if you aren't able to come in to the store, and in both cases only postage needs to be covered, the hemming is free of charge. 

CARE

Wear them regularly and wash them rarely if you want to get good fades. When really needed, we recommend laying them flat in a bath of cool water for best results. Use detergent sparingly and only when necessary.

These jeans are built to last. The more you wear them, the better they get.
