There's a story behind these wonderful tins of British fish. Charlotte and Angus during the Covid Pandemic worked in the hospitality industry and it all but closed down. They found due to restrictions, food shopping was difficult, but they created a fortnightly ritual. This involved buying a lot of store cupboard staples with which they could make family meals from; notably tinned fish. However they noticed that none of the options available were canned in England or using British fish.
This sparked the beginning of their canned food journey, and Sea Sisters was born. Together they have passionately learned a new craft.
The packaging is 100% recyclable. They are constantly rethinking ways in which the transport of fish from its boat to the cannery can occur without the use of materials that will impact the planet.
At Freight HHG we have sampled these tins and they are a fantastic fishy treat. Perfect accompaniment on a picnic with some fresh bread or crackers. Also as a nutritious lunch or dinner option.
This Cornish Hake is a succulent white fish preserved with the Mediterranean flavours of rosemary, capers and garlic, in extra virgin olive oil.
The other Hake option is the one with seaweed and butter which is best served warm, so we strongly recommend placing the unopened can into freshly boiled water and waiting for a few minutes before enjoying on hot sourdough toast.
The award winning rainbow trout is gently smoked over oak and preserved in a quality, extra virgin olive oil. This superb fish is delicious with eggs for breakfast.
The Sardines are a collaboration with small batch olive oil producers Two Fields. A super simple combination that celebrates the fantastic flavour of both the Cornish sardines and the Cretan extra virgin olive oil. Try with a squeeze of lemon on a crispbread cracker.
